For the research community, SOLVE-IT can be used to find knowledge gaps and inspire and motivate research.

Techniques missing mitigations

If a technique has no mitigations, that maybe because the knowledge base needs additional content (see contributing), or it may be because mitigations for a particular weakness have not been developed yet. This represents an important area of work to assist the digital forensics community.

You can view a list of potential weaknesses indexed in the knowledge base and sort by the number of mitigations that they have within the SOLVE-IT explorer.

Missing techniques

There may also be entire techniques that could be developed under a particular objective. It is encouraged to develop techniques to assist in delivering objectives, publish them, and link to SOLVE-IT (which is an additional contribution of your work).
